Poems and Songs for Kids in Spanish

It’s easy to forget that all the things we use to teach kids English can also be used to teach them Spanish or another language. Poetry included!! A simple search of poems for kids in Spanish will give you some results of kids’ poems written in Spanish with their English translations.

Here is one page where the poems were shorter, they had more repetition and look a little bit easier to read. Translating it if you don’t speak Spanish shouldn’t be too difficult with Google Translate either. I hope you enjoy it!

Also children’s songs are basically short poems. We’ve been singing Head, Shoulders, Kness and Toes in Spanish also- here’s a link to it on YouTube- it’s a great way to learn vocabulary!

And here is a photo of some songs from church that I have in Spanish- another great way to learn is to learn songs you already know in English, and then learn them in Spanish!

Amber moved to Guadalajara, Mexico with her family when she was just 7 years old. They all learned and spoke Spanish there and lived there for 5+ years, visiting frequently. Amber studied Spanish all through high school and minored in it in college. She learned a lot about learning languages when she and her family moved to France and took on the challenge of learning French. She has also learned a lot about teaching kids since she has been homeschooling her 8 from the start. Amber has taken all she has learned from all these experiences to make this Spanish course specifically for kids to be able to start speaking Spanish right away. The focus is on helping kids learn to make sentences and to learn vocabulary words in context. Speaking, listening, practicing and repeating make this program a winner when it comes to helping kids learn Spanish!
